You know, there's this editorial by a Nintendo fan that makes a really good point about the Wii release. I'm going to let you read it if you haven't already, but at one point he states how Nintendo fans will mostly buy 1st party games, and then buy better versions of 3rd party games (during the last two generation runs) on the other systems, forcing many 3rd party companies to offer less and less support to Nintendo.

You know what, I actually do that, and I do not mind doing that, until the article states that by Nintendo fans not vocally stating the problems with Nintendo, or being happy just buying 1st party games or whatnot, the problems with Nintendo will not change and history will repeat itself.

As much as hardcore fanboys want to ignore, improved graphics, stronger technology and other things the PS3 and Xbox 360 offer us are still important in this business. Sony and Microsoft are ignoring ways to renew the gaming world with innovative ideas, while Nintendo is, Yet Nintendo is ignoring improved technology to go with innovative ideas. It's honestly way too early to tell what this would do to Nintendo as a company. Would it help them become a big deal in their industry? Would they go the way of Sega and Atari? Who the fuck knows?

Let's think about another six-seven years from now when the NEXT generation comes around. What the hell will the world offer us then?
